2020 Online Summer Camp (Sichuan) Closed Successfully

On August 27, the Sichuan summer camp was successfully closed. It is an online summer camp sponsored by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and undertaken by the Sichuan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.

Since the opening on April 30, Sichuan summer camps have held eight sessions, spanning 120 days, and have offered a platform for more than 6,000 campers to gather in the clouds. They came from 14 countries including the United States, Canada, France, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Norway, South Korea, and New Zealand.

As one of the 35 overseas Chinese education institutions participating in the summer camps, CIG organized more than 20 families in groups. Our students actively participated in the interactions. Each day we listened together to traditional stories and watched Sichuan humanistic videos.

Through the WeChat group and accompanying programs and platforms, our small campers learned together traditional stories such as "Journey to the West", "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "Three-Character Scripture", which were uniformly posted by the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. They also embarked on a thrilling journey of "Wild Adventure" and got to know "What is the Coronavirus" and gained knowledge of fighting the pandemic. In addition, they watched video stories with Sichuan cultural characteristics such as "Leshan Giant Buddha", "The Legend of Sanxingdui" and "Drunk Chengdu".

Through the activities, our campers fully experienced the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture, increased feelings for their ancestral (home) country, and deepened knowledge and understanding of Sichuan province. Among them, Ziao WU and Lisha MENG both obtained the certificate of excellent campers.
